That book was my first introduction to even the most vague concept of a "Lisa Snellings" so very long ago. I loved the way that the pictures fit in and out of the stories, so you weren't really sure which came first, the sculptures, or the stories, or if they just sprang forth simultaneously from this spontaneous collective pool, sort of like two people who both have a vision of the Titanic sinking on two completely different continents... except completely different from that entirely.

How things have changed since then.

In a complete aside, has anyone noticed how the word verifications actually read like the names of Lovecraftian Old Ones? This one right now was Athubzfa, father of smelly cheezes, dirty socks, and... oh let's say madness for good measure. I love these! (Crap, I typed that one in wrong, so now I get to meet Ewsodhwx, lord of clogged drains full of mysterious hair and the screams of a thousand worlds.)

Does indeed look like a very cool book. Glad things went well and that you had a good time. Going from the desert to the snow is definitely a way to get outside your element for awhile. I want snow so badly and all we've gotten is weather reports teasing us about snow with nothing ever developing. If I don't get any snow before Christmas I'm going to be very disappointed.

Stories by Neil I don't have... must acquire stories...

I love that picture of him surrounded by pens and ink - did you take it?

(I never get good confirmation words. Can't even think of a decent meaning for "luyfnv".)

It is actually a cool book. We thought they were mostly all gone, then Gregg Ketter found a stash of them in England. My last name is misspelled on the cover (Lisa Snelling) which still bothers Gregg to no end, but which never bothered me at all. The stash is now signed by both Neil and me.
