Perhaps it's just me, but the footboard of the bed looks like quite a nice monster in its own right - two eyes up on stalks, some nice monster feet down below, and one humongous mouth with lots of pointy teeth stretched between. The Footboard Monster standing guard over the sleeping poppet, mayhap?
