Uh-oh. Oh dear. They've found their little costumes and already are trying them on. Poppets rule this house...

Are the ones at the back (with whiskers) cat-poppets or rat-poppets?

I got an idea. I think everyne that reads Lisa blog should buy and paint a poppet. We then set a deadline date mail them all back to Lisa and let her build something out of them.

It's just a thought and I don't know if we can convince her to go along with it.

What a beautiful array. The Poppets continue to display their versatility.

I fear they may soon turn on their creator...

sometimes I think my poppets are looking at me when I'm watching tv.

oh, oh, oh, I need poppets in costumes.

Jestersdna, they are. Not that they're not watching you at all other times as well...

Oooh I want poppets in costumes too!! Also John- I think that sounds like a great idea- I would love to paint up a poppet and send it back to Lisa! What do you think Lisa?!

I knew it, little buggers. HA! I turned them around to face the wall.

The latest poppets in costume are cute. Very, very cute.

If I didn't know better, I'd think that their Mommy was becoming a bit whimsical and, I dunno, kind of "perky"? These would definitely have mass-market appeal.

Halloween poppets are good. But if we start seeing little "Nutcracker" poppets in December, I'm definitely going to start worrying..........

Nah, they'll all have antlers and harnesses with bells on!

OK. I gave John's idea a bit of thought. Here's the best I have so far...That various people paint poppets and send them to me. Then I assemble them into a sculpture and raffle it off to readers. The money would go to charity (CBLDF?)

Now, the hold up is that Lisa is terribly, terribly overladen. I'm currently working to make room for a helper.

If we were to do such a project, someone other than Lisa has to handle the nuts and bolts of it. At least, if it's to happen within the next four months.

Other than that---it's a good idea and I'm all for it.

Feel free to discuss this amongst yourselves. I'd love to see it happen.

K---they're cats. Awwwww. Now I have to make rat ones...

I don't care how ladled you are... if you make a Poppet dressed as a Rat, I expect to also see a Rat dressed as a Poppet.

Equal opportunity and all that.

Could you sell us 'blank' poppets for painting/decorating purposes? Then we could send them back, and you could assemble them as indicated. This way the charity (I like CBLDF) would benefit twice... Your workload would also be slightly less, as you wouldn't have to paint the blank poppets.

Could you make a poppet comprised of poppets?

Could be a project for after you get your helper stuff set up? Is the casting something that your helper can do or are there other things that you have lined up for him or her that would occupy too much time for it?

I would love to buy a Poppet, paint it, send it back. You'd probably get a large response from this. Yes! Completely blank-slated poppets might be easier for you? And I could at least do the sanding of my own poppet at my friends' shop.

What other kinds of nuts and bolts would be on your plate with this? I'm not sure what else goes into something like this. Are you meaning the business end of things? Would you be setting that up on Ebay again or on your website? (Or possibly the indubitably talented and beautiful Ravyn?)

Can you smell that burning? Its all think gah-thunking in my brainpan.

Well since it was my idea I will take ownership of it. I am will to do whatever Lisa needs me to do to get this going.

Also not a "Blogger" (yet...) so posting here for the project...

I would kill - uh I mean *pay*... - to paint a poppet.

Count me right in!
And I bring my own paint...

I would also participate in the poppet project. My own poppet is eyeing me watchfully as I type this.
