Sunday Signing

I'll be signing copies of "Strange Roads" with Peter Beagle at the Paperback Book Show at Mission Hills on Sunday. If you're planning to be there, come by the DreamHaven booth and see me. I'll be happy to sign whatever other books of mine you bring as well.

We're making some special "Strange Roads" Poppets in the studio this week. There will be some signed copies of Strange Roads in a set with a SR Poppet and bookmark available in the store soon. I'll let you know when they're up.

We're busy bees. Not busy with bees, but that's 'on the list' for soon.

Thanks to those who've sent puzzles!!! I'll be sending out 'collaborator' poppets to you next week. We only need a few more, so if you're going to send in a puzzle, you might want to do so sooner than later.

Have a good Tuesday. This is Tuesday, right?

A special SR poppet?!?

Oh no! I've already pre-ordered the book through Dreamhaven!

I guess I'll just have to buy another book and give it as a gift. Fortunately my sister-in-law likes such things.

hi,
um, i read somewhere that Neil Gaiman's "Harlequin Valentine" story was based on a scultpure of yours, part of the 'Crowded After Hours' series.

I was wondering if there was a picture of it somewhere that would be able to be viewed by all.

Many thanks,
Glenn

glenn: Yes, 'Crowded After Hours' is located on one of Lisa's older sites, Lisa Snellings-Clark

This site has not been updated in quite a while, and i did not finish getting all of the Dark Caravan pieces up there, but there are a couple on display.

As well as other goodies.....

Jonathan and Chris: I wasn't planning to offer them separately, but your book will want its own Poppet. Email to lisa@poppetplanet.com when I post the SR poppets and you can purchase one without the book.
I look forward to hearing what you think of the stories and art in the book.

Glenn: Looks like the Ravyn caught that one. Harlequin Valentine is based on a figure from Crowded After Hours and "Missy" is based at least in part on me. I worked in the morgue, on the same road, with the same boss. Neil asked me all sorts of gruesome questions and I told him about the morgue with its green tiled walls, strange smells and surprises in the refrigerator.
He dedicated the graphic version with John Bolton to me--one of the coolest Valentines ever.
Crowded After Hours will be part of the Dark Caravan exhibit at the American Visionary Museum in Baltimore. The installation is in process now, but won't actually open until 2010. Who knows where/what we'll be then?

Missy is one of my favourite Gaiman girls - she's my avatar on the girl-wonder.org forums.
I did rather wonder if her background as ex-morgue worker had anything to do with you...

Hi K: Yup. She's a bit me and I'm a bit her.

Neil tends to like the stories I tell him about the morgue. go figure
