White Queen on Her Square
The sculpture is 25 inches tall and the base is a very old chess board which actually, was the inspiration for the sculpture in the first place. It was really satisfying to do something so very gothic, and so completely monochromatic.
This is great Lisa. Love the monochromatic look. I've really liked the paper doll pieces since I saw the one featured in Spectrum 9 (which is terrific!).
Looking forward to seeing the collaborative efforts on that is getting the beaded outfit.
Lisa is the creator of Poppets and other art. Talented authors tend to write stories about images she makes. At Strange Studios, in Palm Springs, California, she and fellow artist Benton Warren create fantastical kinetic works. This blog is about Poppets, life in the studio and other strange goings on.
