Now Boarding

So. At last. The Poppets who missed their flights are on their ways to various destinations.
Yes. Packing and shipping these past weeks have been problematic. The main problem, it seems, is that your artist was doing the packing and shipping.
Hmm. Artists are not necessarily the most organized humans on the planet.
There are exceptions, but this artist is not one of them.
The good news is that now we have, once again, more capable humans to make sure every Poppet gets to its destination without major pandemonium.
That said---if you've been expecting a Poppet and are concerned about it and haven't heard from us, please do email to poppetplanetgirl@aol.com and we'll tell you exactly what your Poppet is up to.
(huge sigh of relief) Now I'm looking forward to a lot more time in the studio, where I'll cause less chaos and make more art.
Speaking of less chaos;
We're still discussing "The Anti Snowball" collaboration on the forums---(click on the "one of us" image on the sidebar.) It's just starting, so if you want a say in how we approach this particular project, now's the time.
Now. Miles to go before I sleep.

i love those old fisher price toys! My sister and i had the house, and i would turn it on its side or upside down cause it was more interesting that way. There is something about upside down architecture that draws me to it i guess.

For example, i love that old movie the Poseidon Adventure, where they try to find their way through the upside down boat. How stairs look upside down, how your perceptions change as you try to identify things that you would recognize instantly if they were right-side up.

i must ponder that some more, see if i can put it into sculpture....

I know! I have that house too! It's just the right size for Poppets. I dream of Poppet playsets/toys for kids. one day....maybe
I too, as a kid, used to lie on my back and imagine walking around on the ceilings, stepping over door frames. Who am I kidding? I still do that.

Hmmm... I wonder if you could paint a fisher price playhouse to turn it into a proper poppet playhouse?

Yay Ben!!! Happy you're back. Strange One is just not the same without Strange Too.

Stacey: I've had that very thought. I've had this one so long I'm very hesitant to change it. Still, I love the idea of a poppet house. I suppose I could look for another one online....

I'm looking at the fisher price castle. The old one from the 70s. I have no idea what kind of paint it would take though, to cover the plastic bits. Should check at the art store.

Stacey: Oh yes. You can totally paint plastic. You just have to sand it with high grit paper---enough to make paint stick but not so much to leave fuzzies. Then use a high quality paint for vinyl. Krylon makes one called "Plastic Fusion".
...don't get me started on paint. I'll geek out on you. it's not pretty.

Yay for Fisher Price! We never had the aeroplane, but we had the garage...

We also had a Shuffly Castle, with a turning turret that allowed you to drop unsuspecting shuffly dolls into the dungeon. It's amazing we all grew up so well adjusted ;)

That has to be one of the coolest uses for a Fisher Price plane that I've seen in a loooong time. Seeing it brings back so many memories. I love that company, they helped fuel my imagination for many, many years.
