After sleeping on it and having no bad dreams I begin to wonder if it might be a "Poppet Pretending to be a Zombie" because that would be a prank to pull on your brainy friends - like telling ghost stories at camp.
I could see them being really really quiet sneaking up behind the brains and waiting for the brains to notice instead of saying "Boo". I bet brains look funny when they jump.
Then all the little laughing poppets would pop out of the grass and laugh. But then I wonder what the brains would do to punk the poppets. . . . Maybe invite them to start a Parliament?

So THAT'S why my hand turned orange when I spilled soda on it yesterday! I was wondering about that... I'll have to try vinegar, milk, maybe a few others to see what kind of a range I have.
But seriously, I think you've got next Halloween's poppet right there. Maybe for the purchaser's safety, they should be required to also purchase a Lisa Brain at the same time (glow-in-the-dark would be the most appropriate).

Sounds like it might be fun.... I'm thinking VERY animated, by the way (you'll see...)
The ZomPoppet might look good with a light underlying wash of the white/blue glow-in-the-dark paint on the forehead, cheeks and hands, with perhaps a tiny dot of the green GITD paint in the center of the eyes. Add a bit of phosphorescent decay authenticity.
creepy
ReplyDeleteguardianalien: thank you! I think...
ReplyDeletePoor Brains!
ReplyDeleteI echo guardianalien -
ReplyDeletethe first thought that crossed my mind was "Now that's just plain creepy...!"
Love it. The Brain's expression is priceless.
That is AWESOMELY disturbing.
ReplyDeleteI do like the bony fingers of the poppet who could be a zombie. The whole picture has that slightly twisted/off centre feel to it.
ReplyDeleteHahaha oh my goodness gracious me.
ReplyDeleteThis is really freaking scary. It's creeping me out. I have to navigate away from here now.

ReplyDeletewait that isn't the proper response? :D
very cool drawing!!
Would not want to meet that in a dark alley! :)
ReplyDeleteDrinne: Yes. And poor cows, poor sheep, poor pigs...
ReplyDeleteDavidK: I'm so happy you like it. You're definitely one of my most dependable litmus tests! (which is better than being a guinea pig)
MadGastronomer: Knowing what I know of your tastes, that is a great compliment. I humbly thank you.
shu-shu-sleeps: Yay! I was looking for that. glad you see it. The whole painting is a little dizzying.
ReplyDeletemordicai: you crack me up
danguy: thanks for stopping by then! (now she knows what scares you)
drinne: sweetie, if that makes you feel better, you hang onto that.
ReplyDeletelindsey: whispers,"I see cute too."
thank you.
tera: I agree. Dark alleys are smelly, then you step on something.
Lisa, I think the answer for me is "Both" just like always. : )
ReplyDeleteWe always pretend to be things that are also real and scary. Sometimes to try to fool the real ones.
What do Zombie Brains eat though?

spacedlaw: and funny? just a little, teeny bit?
ReplyDeleteDavid: I have a long brutal summer to travel before Halloween. Thank you for another carrot to keep me moving forward.
