Put on the glasses, human.

This is heavily on my mind today.  The things we don't see.  Things that are twisted and wrong and invisible to us because we don't wear the glasses with which to see them.

Today it's this one. Sales tax.  What?  Sales tax.  Who is served by sales tax?  Who is hurt?  How does this affect you?

Talk to me?  If not about this, tell me what you see when you put on the glasses, human.

Walking is the inertia killer

Walking at least begins to raise the heart rate, getting more oxygen to the brain.  The brain takes a breath.  Walking outside is good - it allows for long-distance views.  Outside of the walls, even if the view is familiar, expanding vision is good.

Inspiration wasn't to be found there, but resolve was.  Possibly it was the energy gained from movement, but mostly what I applied was 'soldiering.'

I told myself the this is my job.  Lack of inspiration is not an excuse for not working and there are still plenty of things to be done.  I sort of shamed myself into motivation.  I'm not sure I recommend this particular approach, but it's what happened.

"Be happy in your work, pear."  If you recognize that quote, you've probably watched too many bad comedies.  But it applies like no other sometimes and Ben and I have said it to each other plenty.

So I came back and went to work, reassuring myself that every day doesn't have to be inspired- can't be inspired- because what would be the magic of inspiration if it is always present?

Silly human.

Good luck with your own inspiration and soldiering.  It seems both are necessary to produce any sort of art.  It seems both are necessary to live everyday life.

Inertia is a mind killer.

Yes.

Jack London did say that you can't wait for inspiration.  That you must go after it with a club.

The morning is nearly gone and I'm still looking for my club.  Coffee didn't work and watching the news often makes me want to give up on humans.

I thought to catch up on The Colbert Report and the interview was with Jared Diamond.  Certainly the author has plenty of interesting things to say, but it did no better than coffee.  I'm left feeling even less motivated than before.

Not a good thing, as I depend on motivation and imagination.  The air outside is crisp and cold and the sun is shining.  Possibly walking will help.  Sometimes it does.  I'll avoid the internet because in this mode, it's a sticky trap, a roach motel for this brain.

So what does someone credited with inspiring others do for inspiration?

Anything she can.

I can't find my club, so my walking shoes will have to do.  Off I go.

I'll let you know what I find.

Photo with background

I painted a background and actually sat the sculpture in shallow water for this one.  Still working on others, but Orion goes back to school tomorrow and all that goes with.  Time to lay out clothes, fireman style, set alarms and get to sleep.  Goodnight to you.
